On top of car sharing, there are bike sharing organizations, too, which appear so far to be more of the non-profit variety. Check out iBike.org. There seems to be an opportunity for a company and a technology that can offer bike sharing will somehow mitigating the risk of having all bikes stolen. (Check out this wikipedia entry: "all 300 bikes were stolen on the first day..."
